SPS Spiral Stabilization – Group Training
The Pioneer of Spinal Regeneration in Hong Kong
At Sens Fontaine, we pride ourselves on being ahead of the curve. We were the first center in Hong Kong to invite international SPS instructors to teach regular classes and train teachers, bringing this revolutionary Czech method to our city.
SPS (Spiral Stabilization), developed by Dr. Richard Smíšek, is not just a workout—it is a medical rehabilitation method designed to reverse the compression caused by modern life.
What is SPS?
Most back pain and spinal issues (like Scoliosis) are caused by “Vertical Muscle Chains”—tight muscles that pull the spine down, compressing the discs and joints. This is worsened by sitting and gravity.
SPS uses specialized elastic resistance bands and precise movements to activate the opposing “Spiral Muscle Chains.” Imagine a corkscrew: as you spiral upwards, you create space. These exercises naturally stretch the spine upward, creating traction that relieves pressure on the intervertebral discs and aligns the vertebrae, all while you are moving.
What are the Benefits?
While manual therapy (like Osteopathy) frees the body, SPS trains the body to hold that freedom.
Suitable For Whom?
We offer both Private Individual and Group Classes to ensure the technique is tailored exactly to your body’s limitations and goals.
Scoliosis Patients
Both children (to prevent worsening) and adults (to manage pain and stability).
The “Slipped Disc” Patient
Those diagnosed with disc herniation or sciatica who want to avoid surgery.
Office Workers
To counteract the “hunchback” posture (Kyphosis) and forward head posture caused by computer work.
Athletes
To improve running mechanics and prevent injury by balancing muscle chains.
Suitable for What Body Issues/Conditions?
- Scoliosis: C-curve or S-curve spine deviations.
- Disc Herniation & Bulging Discs: Lower back and neck pain.
- Spondylolisthesis: Instability of the vertebrae.
- Failed Back Surgery Syndrome: Pain that persists after spinal surgery.
- Flat Feet & Bunions: Addressing the root cause in the walking pattern.
- Chronic Back & Neck Pain: Long-term relief through movement re-education.
