Trauma Recovery & Embodiment
Releasing the Past from Your Biology
We often think of trauma as something that lives only in our memories or our minds. But modern neuroscience shows us that trauma—whether from a car accident, a fall, a surgery, or long-term emotional stress—is actually stored in both the physical tissues of the body and the structures of the brain.
At Sens Fontaine, we offer a distinct approach to recovery. We have alternatives besides “talk therapy.” With compassion, we provide the advanced manual techniques of the Chikly Brain Therapy Curriculum to release the physical “freeze” response locked in your nervous system.
What is Trauma Recovery & Embodiment?
When a stressful event happens, your body enters a “fight, flight, or freeze” state. Ideally, once the danger passes, the body shakes it off and resets. However, sometimes this energy gets trapped. Your brain structures (like the Amygdala or Hippocampus) remain on high alert, and your body tissues tighten in a protective pattern.
Embodiment simply means being fully present and safe inside your own skin.
Using the precise, gentle touch of the Chikly method, we bypass the “story” of what happened and speak directly to the anatomy. We locate the specific brain nuclei or fluid systems holding the tension and help them down-regulate. This allows your body to realize: “The danger is over. I am safe now.”

What are the Benefits?
This therapy bridges the gap between physical pain and emotional health.
Suitable For Whom?
This is a powerful modality for those who feel “stuck” in their recovery journey.
The “Disconnect” Type
If you feel like you are living in your head and ignoring your body, or if you feel numb.
Survivors of Accidents
People recovering from car crashes, falls, or sports injuries who are technically “healed” but still feel afraid to move.
Post-Surgery Patients
Surgeries are controlled trauma. We help the body accept the intervention and release the cellular memory of the procedure.
Therapy Veterans
People who have done years of psychological counseling (talk therapy) and understand why they are stressed, but still feel the stress physically.
Suitable for What Body Issues/Conditions?
- PTSD & CPTSD: Supporting the physical nervous system alongside your psychological care.
- Anxiety & Panic Attacks: Reducing the physical symptoms of panic (tight chest, racing heart).
- Dissociation: Feeling spacey, ungrounded, or “not real.”
- Whiplash: Often, the neck holds the “fear” of the impact, preventing physical healing until the trauma is released.
- Chronic Tension: Unexplained tightness in the diaphragm, throat, or stomach (places where we hold emotion).
