    Scar Tissue Release

    Unlocking Restrictions Below the Surface

In Hong Kong’s fast-paced medical environment, we often think that once a wound has closed and the stitches are out, the healing is complete. But biologically, a scar is like an iceberg—what you see on the skin is only a fraction of what exists underneath.

At Sens Fontaine, our experts have developed a specialized Scar Tissue Release protocol based on the advanced techniques of the S.T.R.A.I.T. Method. We treat the scar not just as a mark on the skin, but as a three-dimensional issue affecting your muscles, nerves, and organs.

    What is Scar Tissue Release?
When the body heals from surgery or injury, it lays down collagen fibers in a random, cross-hatch pattern to close the wound quickly. This creates adhesions—internal glue that can cause layers of muscle, fascia, and even organs to stick together.

Unlike deep tissue massage which can be forceful, our technique is precise and respectful. We use gentle, directional pressure to engage the barrier of the scar tissue. By melting these adhesions, we restore the “slide and glide” between the tissues, ensuring that your skin, muscles, and nerves can move independently again.

    What are the Benefits?

Freeing a scar often solves “mystery pains” in other parts of the body. For example, a tight abdominal scar can cause back pain years later.

    • Restored Connection: Reduces the sensation of numbness or “disconnection” often felt around surgical sites.
    • Pain Relief: Alleviates the pulling, burning, or itching sensations associated with tight scars.
    • Improved Mobility: Instantly improves flexibility and range of motion (crucial for athletes or post-joint replacement).
    • Aesthetic Improvement: Over time, the therapy helps flatten the scar, reduce redness, and improve texture.
    • Organ Function: For abdominal scars, releasing adhesions ensures that digestive organs are not restricted or compressed.

    Suitable For Whom?

This treatment is essential for anyone who has undergone surgery, whether recently or decades ago.

    Post-Partum Mothers (C-Section)

Hong Kong has a high rate of C-sections. This therapy is vital for reconnecting the core muscles and preventing the “overhang” or back pain often caused by the scar.

    Post-Surgery Patients

Those recovering from spinal surgery, appendix removal, or joint replacements.

    Athletes

Where old injury scars are preventing full muscle firing or limiting range of motion.

    Laparoscopic Patients

Even tiny “keyhole” surgery scars can create deep internal adhesions that need treatment.

Suitable for What Body Issues / Conditions?

    • C-Section Scars: To reduce the “shelf” appearance and restore sensation to the lower belly.
    • Orthopedic Scars: Knee, hip, or shoulder replacements where stiffness persists.
    • Trauma Scars: From accidents or deep cuts.
    • Chronic Pain: Back pain or pelvic pain that started after a surgery, even if the surgery was years ago.
    • Restricted Movement: Feeling a “tugging” sensation when stretching or reaching.
